The two swimming pools and whirlpool spas overlook the Bay Lake and lie close to a small stretch of white sand beach (although swimming in the lake is not permitted). The main pool is designed for children, with a curvaceous water slide and a separate kids’ splash area with water fountains. The second pool is closer to the lake and offers a quieter atmosphere. You can relax here on a sun lounger or rent one of the premium private cabanas fitted with flat-screen TVs and iPod docking stations.

This action-packed resort offers an array of sports facilities. You can use the tennis courts, volleyball court, fitness centre and jogging track. Complimentary yoga classes are held twice a week by the lakeside, and there’s also a full-sized basketball court on site.

Boat Nook Marina offers boat rentals and guided fishing trips around the lakes (available for a supplement), and speciality cruises can be booked at the resort – including the popular Disney Fireworks Cruise. There’s also the colourful arcade – known as The Game Station – which offers a wide range of video games and classic arcade games. At the end of a busy day, enjoy family campfire experiences or watch complimentary screenings of Disney films together on the lawn. 

Dining information

The hotel caters for all tastes with three restaurants, a quick-service cafe and multiple bars or lounges. Chef Mickey’s offers fun-filled dining experiences with beloved Disney characters over a breakfast buffet, lunch or dinner. If you’re on the go, begin your day at the quick-service Contempo Café, where you can order full breakfasts or oatmeal, eggs, pancakes and bakery items. ‘Grab-and-go’ items are available for lunch and dinner – including burgers, sandwiches, and pasta dishes.

The Wave... of American Flavors is an all-day restaurant which specialises in modern American fare. The a la carte menu features dishes made with locally sourced ingredients. There’s a stylish bar inside the restaurant, serving fine wines and organic beer. California Grill is a fine-dining restaurant, offering wonderful views of the Magic Kingdom Park and Seven Seas Lagoon. Come here for dinner or weekend brunches, and savour signature grilled dishes such as sushi, steak, and seafood. You can even book a private observation deck to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks. Before dinner, enjoy signature cocktails in the California Grill Lounge.

If you are relaxing by the pool, make the most of The Sand Bar, which serves an assortment of drinks (including tropical cocktails, draft beers and soft drinks) and snacks such as burgers and hot dogs. Indoors, there’s Contemporary Grounds, where you can order coffee, iced tea, smoothies and freshly baked cakes and pastries.

After a busy day, unwind in the Outer Rim lounge and admire sunset views across the lake. Here you can try a range of creative cocktails, including the Piña CoLAVA, Red Stag Lemonade and Blue “Glow-tini”. Rooms service is available for those who prefer to dine in the comfort and privacy of their own room.
