The delightful Sanctuary Spa takes inspiration from zen philosophy where every consideration is given to your individual need. Enjoy refreshing treatments in a peaceful underground haven, using luxury products. Special treatments include a gold-infused firming facial and a signature Ylang Ylang massage. It boasts 11 treatment rooms, including four for couples and one on the beach, plus a separate yoga room. There’s a free steam room and sauna available.

There is a wide range of activities for all ages, including a kids’ club and some of the best fishing and diving in Mauritius. Complimentary water sports covered here include hobie-cats, water skiing, snorkelling, glass-bottomed boat trips and a PADI dive centre.

Families are especially well catered for here. There’s a safe and shallow beach, a kids’ pool, children's menu items and even special spa treatments aimed at younger visitors. Activities at the Plantation Kids Club, open until 22.00, include crab hunting, fashion shows, sega dance lessons, tie-dying, water skiing lessons and pony rides. Outside there’s a mini soccer pitch and a playground. Babysitting is available too. In low season when two adults book a room they can get a free room for two children inclusive of breakfast.

There’s a free, spacious and well equipped fitness centre and two floodlit tennis courts. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the resort, even on the beach.

The hotel also runs a range of local experiences of varying lengths including Dine with a Local and an exploration of the island’s wild South Eden areas, including Sancho Island, Riviere des Galets Beach, Black River Gorges, Gris Gris and Vanilla Nature Park. You can also book a Creole cookery masterclass (extra charge), creating the popular chicken dish Cari Poule using the ingredients produced on the Earth Basket land that surrounds the property.

The hotel prides itself on its cuisine and presents the finest local produce, cooked using diverse recipes from around the world. The Dining Room offers either a buffet or a set menu, depending on the season, for breakfast and dinner. Lamplit dinners here are sophisticated affairs blending Mauritian spices with international flavours to create enticing fusion dishes. If you're staying on half board, you can enjoy delicious dinners here.

At lunch time, head to the Verandah for light bites. Relax under a shady parasol beside the pool with a view of the sea and enjoy a selection of toasted sandwiches, oven-cooked pizzas, generous salads and homemade ice creams.

Alternatively visit the Plantation restaurant, open for lunch and dinner, it is one of the island’s bona fide dining destinations. Set in a planter's house right on the oceanfront, you'll dine amid spectacular views and enjoy Sega dancing performances several times a week. Savour the freshest seafood and authentic Creole cuisine, with typical dishes such as palm heart with lobster and mango salsa followed by creme brulee with lychees.

There’s a refined bar serving Afternoon Tea, beers, local rum and craft cocktails. Settle into a comfy oversized sofa, relax and enjoy your favourite tipple accompanied by a live nightly music performance. There’s also a pop-up bar at the cinema on the beach. Sunday nights are reserved for the indulgent pleasures of Lobster Night, when chefs create a tantalising culinary experience directly on the seashore, for a supplementary fee. There are also weekly barbecues served on the beach.

Additional information

A dress code applies in the evenings and requires casual attire. Shorts, sleeveless shirts, tracksuits, t-shirts, sandals and flip flops are not allowed in the restaurants and bars during dinner time and closed shoes are compulsory for men.
