Ambre's sweeping pool complex stretches toward the breathtaking beach, where crystal-clear waters gently lap the white shoreline. The main freeform pool features in-water platforms for sunbathing, and there’s a separate infinity pool designed for lap swimming. Sun loungers, parasols and bendy palm trees skirt the edge of the pool, and you’ll find more palapa umbrellas and cream-coloured loungers down at the beach.

You can take advantage of beach butler service for drinks and sunglasses cleaning. An upgraded beach experience is also on offer for a supplementary charge, with premium sunbeds and a choice of refreshments. You can head to the water sports centre to try kayaking, pedal boating, stand-up paddleboarding or windsurfing. Alternatively, book a free snorkelling trip, diving adventure or glass-bottomed boat excursion for an additional charge.

The daily activities schedule covers sunrise yoga, beach volleyball, badminton and mini basketball. You can also brush up on your tennis skills on two floodlit tennis courts or complete a full-body workout at the fully equipped fitness centre. Golfers can play on the world-class Ile Aux Cerfs golf course nearby and cyclists can book an exciting bicycle excursion to a local village for a supplement charge.

Spend peaceful hours in Ambre’s spa, which is set close to the tranquil Indian Ocean. You can book a range of massage and body treatments, many of which incorporate products by Germaine de Capuccini and L’Oréal for a supplement charge. After your treatment, you can use the steam room, sauna and whirlpool tub, while relaxing to the sounds of the ocean.

The Ambre resort has embraced eco-friendly initiatives, such as introducing paper straws and a ‘skip the straw’ policy. In resort, you are invited to learn more about the hotel’s sustainable and social responsibility programme.

Dining information

The main restaurant, Indigo, features live cooking stations which specialise in Indian, Chinese and Creole cuisine, as well as other international dishes. There’s also a dedicated gluten free station and a healthy corner with fruits, vegetables and fresh juices. At the sophisticated Dolce Vita restaurant, you can savour homemade Italian specialities, including antipasti, pasta and pizza dishes, with stunning views of the beach. La Plage is a more casual beach restaurant, which serves a selection of Mediterranean and Mauritian dishes, alongside grilled seafood, snacks and sandwiches.

You can order signature cocktails and drinks at the Coral pool bar or head to H&H Lounge to sample local rums. In the evening, the H&H Lounge hosts live karaoke nights and screens international sports events on a large TV. Its adjoining nightclub, Shakers, opens later for themed evenings with local and international DJs.
