Sun Siyam Iru Fushi Maldives is popular with families. Facilities for children include a dedicated kids’ club and restaurants with kids’ menus. At the kids’ club, children between the ages of 3 and 12 can enjoy supervised activities and paddle in the kids’ pool. Babysitting service is also available here for a supplement charge. A family-friendly recreation area contains pool tables, table tennis and board games, and evening entertainment delights the whole family.

Elsewhere on the island, you’ll find tennis courts, beach volleyball nets, a giant chess set and a 24-hour gym that hosts fitness classes and yoga sessions. You can also take a free tour of the island or book a sunset cruise on a dhoni boat (additional charges apply).

The water sports centre is situated along the beach, providing wind surfing, kayaks and paddleboards – and you can participate in various motorised water sports for a supplementary charge. The dive centre also offers a range of courses for all skill levels, in addition to guided trips to incredible dive sites in the Noonu Atoll.

There are two outdoor pools on the island, including a family pool with child-friendly areas and an adult-only infinity pool on the beach. There resort’s spa takes a holistic approach to beauty, health and wellbeing with traditional Ayurvedic practices at its heart. You can indulge in a signature treatment in one of 20 rooms, before using the hydrotherapy pools, steam rooms and saunas. 

Dining information

With 15 restaurants and bars, Iru Fushi caters for all tastebuds. Buffet-style breakfasts, lunches and themed dinners are served in the main Iru Restaurant, which features live cooking stations, sandy floors and dedicated family areas. You can start the day here with a fresh smoothie, a warm pastry or a full English breakfast, and return in the evening to sample an array of international delights.

The casual Islanders Grill is open for lunch, which serves fresh seafood on the beachfront. The Trio, which specialises in Italian classics, such as homemade pasta dishes and stone-baked pizzas, Teppanyaki, where you can try sizzling Japanese dishes, and Bamboo, offering an Asian feast, are open for dinner.

For something lighter, head to Fluid pool bar for sandwiches, salads and snacks, or treat yourself to something sweet at La Cremeria, like a homemade ice cream or an ice-cold frappe. Healthy juices and nutritious snacks are also available at The Spa Cafe. You can order refreshments at a choice of bars, including Reflections, the adult-only pool bar, and the beachfront Water’s Edge.

In the evening, the sophisticated Bubble Lounge is the perfect spot for Champagne and canapes. You can also sample rich curries at Taste of India or experience French fine dining at Flavours. In-villa dining and special candlelit meals are available for an additional charge, and you can enjoy a private dining experience or wine tastings at The Cellar, the resort’s overwater wine academy.

If you stay on the full-board or all-inclusive programme, you can take lunch in a choice of three venues. The set-menu lunch includes one starter, one main and one dessert. Those on half-board and full-board plans can enjoy a daily buffet dinner in Iru Restaurant or a three-course set meal at selected a la carte restaurants. Reservations are required.

There will be a ‘Meet and Assist’ service on arrival at Velana International Airport. You’ll have access to Sun Siyam Lounge at the seaplane terminal on arrival if you travel to the resort via seaplane. Sun Siyam Lounge offers complimentary Wi-Fi, bottled water, soft drinks, tea or coffee, a snack buffet and a ten-minute spa taster massage until 17:00. If you arrive into the domestic terminal, you’ll also have access to a lounge with free Wi-Fi, bottled water, soft drinks, tea or coffee and a snack buffet.

At The Spa by Thalgo France you can book an hour’s complimentary hydrotherapy session (advance reservation is required) and enjoy daily introductory sessions of yoga, Pilates, aqua aerobics and body building. Please enquire at the spa for the session schedule.

You’ll receive two bottles of water per villa, there are no tray charges for room service and tea and coffee making facilities are provided − including coffee capsules if you’ve booked a Pool Beach Villa, Infinity Water Villa, Aqua Retreat, Hidden Retreat or Celebrity Retreat. Hidden, Aqua and Celebrity Retreats also include a personal butler, complimentary in villa breakfast, daily sunset canapes and more. The fitness centre is open 24/7 and there is regular evening entertainment. You’ll also receive an invitation to the management party cocktails.

Two children below 15 years of age can stay, play and eat for free per villa. Those from ages of 3 to 12 can access the kids’ club. Access to the recreation centre, which offers PlayStation and Wii games, is included.

In response to Coronavirus (COVID-19) all guests will be required to check-in online through the hotel's website, and there will be thermal temperature screening procedures in place. The spa café is only serving beverages at this time. The buffet service will be assisted by the culinary team. A reservation is required to access the spa, and guests are requested to shower before treatments. Capacity is limited at the kids' club and early booking is recommended. All children are required to shower prior to entering the kids' club. A babysitting service will be provided in the kids’ club up until 18:00 or in the recreation centre after this time. Housekeeping must be requested.
