Quinta da Casa Branca is a luxury boutique property and a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World. This contemporary design hotel is set amongst lush tropical gardens and offers two swimming pools and a spa.
Set away from the city and surrounded lush greenery, the hotel is situated in the beautiful botanical gardens of the Quinta da Casa Branca estate, which spans approximately 28000 m2. Bursting with colour, the hotel’s pathways are adorned by plants and trees from around the world – even the swimming pool area is delicately framed by bougainvillaea. Madeira International Airport is 13 miles away, which takes approximately 20 minutes by car.
Quinta da Casa Branca was the first design concept hotel in Madeira. There are two other buildings set apart from the modern boutique hotel, the Manor House – which houses five luxury suites and the Villa, which dates back to the 19th Century and is situated next to the swimming pool. The exterior of the Manor House is built in a classical style, with white stone walls. The interior houses antique joinery, decorative plaster ceilings, Venetian chandeliers and stone columns. To reflect the remarkable heritage of the family who own the estate, the reception rooms and corridors have been decorated with antique Portuguese furniture, impressive paintings and tapestries from their private collection. Upgrade to a Manor Suite and enjoy the individual furnishings, private lounge access, Nespresso coffee machine, a separate shower and private balcony or terrace.

There are two outdoor heated swimming pools. The main pool is located amongst the tropical gardens, a smaller adult-only pool can be found in the middle of the banana plantation.
The Health Club and Spa has a gym with training equipment, sauna, Jacuzzi, steam bath and a relaxation room. Unwind and enjoy access to the health club free of charge, or upgrade and pay for one of the beauty treatments at the spa – you’ll need to book in advance to secure your appointment time.
There is a large library with internet access and Wi-Fi is also available in your accommodation.
Dining information
Start your day with breakfast at the Garden Pavilion restaurant, close to the pool. Here you can enjoy a choice of buffet options such as fresh fruit and pastries – with hot food and drink orders taken at the table.
Casa da Quinta is a bistro-style restaurant serving lunches, snacks and light meals in the evenings.
In the evening, dinner is served in the beautiful Dining Room – the attentive service makes this the ideal setting for a special occasion. The Dining Room serves an innovative a la carte dinner menu, or a set table d’hôte menu if you’re staying on half board. Compliment your meal with a glass of local Portuguese wine. Enjoy pre or post dinner drinks at the Casa da Quinta bar, featuring an open terrace with outstanding views across the gardens of the estate.
