Spend your time in or around the historic, adult-only pool – which is built along the cliff’s edge above Crane Beach – or enjoy the property’s vast cascading pool complex; it offers stunning Atlantic Ocean views. Children will love splashing around in the separate wading pool or waterfall pool, whilst adults can soak up the clifftop vistas from the outdoor whirlpool. Steps lead directly down the cliff from the hotel to the shore, or you can take the glass-front lift down to the beach.

On the beach, you’ll be greeted by pink-toned sand and lush coconut palms. The Grove Beach Bar & Grill here provides complimentary umbrellas, sun loungers and swimming towels. The water is partially protected by a natural coral reef. Oftentimes, an employed lifeguard will monitor the beach; however, swimmers should always remain cautious of water conditions and avoid swimming if the red flag is flying.

When you’re feeling active during your stay, visit the fitness centre with a selection of cardio equipment and weights. Guests can also book yoga or Zumba classes. Those who prefer to train in the great outdoors can play on the two flood-lit tennis courts on site. The Crane offers preferential rates at the Barbados Golf Club, too, although this is just over seven miles from the hotel. After working out, reinvigorate and relax at The Serenity Spa, which resides in the historic building. A range of treatments are available, whether you’re seeking a massage, facial, manicure or pedicure.

The Crane Village is the picturesque market square within the hotel, offering a collection of shops. This includes a convenience store (which also sells groceries) and boutique that retails fine jewellery and watches. There’s even a well-known department store where you can enjoy duty-free shopping for luxury goods. This central hub is also home to the Calypso Kids’ Club which caters for children from aged 4 to 12 years old; it hosts a range of fun activities such as arts and crafts, story times, discovery tours and talent shows.

Begin your day with a buffet breakfast at L’Azure restaurant, where you can try pancakes, cooked breakfasts (including a vegan breakfast) and continental options. For lunch and dinner, the restaurant specialises in seafood and serves a tempting range of international and Caribbean delicacies. The restaurant also boasts panoramic views across the Atlantic Ocean or Crane Beach and provides a Bajan buffet lunch on Sundays. For an authentic Italian dinner, head to the charming Crane Village where you’ll find D’Onofrio’s. There’s also Zen which offers specialist Japanese and Thai cuisine with wonderful views of Crane Beach. It’s open for dinner six nights per week.

The Carriage House – originally the hotel’s stables over a century ago – is now a contemporary poolside bar and grill. Order tasty grilled snacks and refreshing mixers during lunch time and enjoy featured themed nights when available. Alternatively, The Grove Bar & Grill boasts a prime beachfront location amongst the coconut groves. This is a popular lunchtime spot, where you can sample Bajan favourites in a casual, alfresco setting.

Treat yourself to something sweet at the Village Café (open daily). Order a cooling ice cream, a specialty coffee or a homemade pastry. In the evenings, Bar 1887 is the perfect spot to enjoy drinks and lite bites. Watch mixologists create signature cocktails or Jazz entertainment on selected nights.

In-room dining is available for breakfast and dinner, or you can book a private chef to cook a meal for you in your kitchen (for a supplement).
