See Paris like you’ve never seen it before… On one night a year, the Nuit Blanche de Paris invites you to explore the city’s museums and culture on a nocturnal art trail. Beginning at sunset on the first Saturday in October, 3 October this year, many museums, cultural institutions and other public and private spaces are open free of charge, throughout the night.

From 7 to 11 October the Fete des Vendanges de Montmartre brings together the local community for the Montmartre wine harvest. Perched high on the hill of Montmartre, this tiny private vineyard celebrates its unique vintage offering with local musicians, artisan food and classes. There is also a parade and fireworks, which light up the spectacular Sacre Coeur.

On 10 October hundreds of classic cars make their way through the streets of Paris for the Vintage Car Parade, as part of the annual vintage car and collector show, Automédon. Starting at 10am, the cars will criss-cross their way through the city. See them crossing the Seine towards the Trocadéro or passing the iconic Arc de Triomphe.

Don’t miss the last chance to enjoy free concerts in the parks and gardens of Paris during the Music Kiosks festival, which ends on 31 October. Or head outside of the city centre to the magnificent Château de Versailles for The Musical Gardens, which runs until 27 October.

See the best of contemporary Asian art at the Paris Asian Art Fair, which is showing for a short period from 18 to 22 October. The exhibition is taking place at the Carrousel du Louvre, opposite the famous glass pyramid. Although, installations will also be set up throughout the city in various museums and galleries.

Or visit the Musee D’Art Moderne for Shadows, an exhibition that celebrates Andy Warhol’s series of abstract photos of shadows on printed canvas. This striking, multi-coloured collection features 17 silkscreened canvases – which total more than 130 metres. The exhibition is open every day except Monday.

France remembers its fallen heroes on Armistice Day (or L’armistice de la Première Guerre Mondiale) with a military parade culminating at the Arc de Triomphe, where the unnamed soldier is entombed. Followed by a Presidential wreath-laying ceremony on the 11th minute of the 11th hour on 11 November.

The following evening, on 12 November, sees Dutch maestro Andre Rieu entertain the masses with the Johann Strauss Orchestra, and his trusted and world-famous Stradivarius violin. Rieu brings new life to classic waltzes with emotional and theatrical flair, all alongside a magical set at the Zenith.

Officially the Month of Photography in Paris - November provides more than forty excellent exhibits, across the city. Perhaps the biggest exhibition is Paris Photo at the glass-enclosed Grand Palais, where 142 galleries will be showing their prints, from 12 to 15 November.

Throughout November and into 2016, visitors to the Galleries Nationales will be mesmerised by Picasso.Mania Work painted and sculpted throughout his career is on display here, including the stunning Les Demoiselles d'Avignon. In a rare move outside of its Madrid home, Guernica will also be wowing crowds in Paris, a true must-see.

Starting 17 November until 31 December, Nureyev’s La Bayadére will be taking the stage at the Palais Garnier. Produced in the last year of his life, Rudolf Nureyev wanted his exotic version to wow spectators. Expect lavish sets and wonderful costumes on a grand scale.

Film festivals are perfect for this time of year, as you can sit comfortably in the warmth of the cinema. The Courts Devant is an International short film festival with hundreds of films being exhibited, and discussion panels at various venues. Head to Le Cinéma des Cinéastes between 23 and 29 November.

Throughout the Parisian autumn, a cultural powerhouse sets up for the changing seasons. The Paris Autumn Festival takes place over many different genres, spaces and dates – from 8 September to 30 December.
