Bondi beach is probably one of the most iconic beaches in Australia – a great place to learn how to surf. Catch the Manly ferry from Circular Quay to Manly beach for an excellent vantage point of Sydney’s iconic sights in full splendour. Take a short stroll to Shelly Beach, armed with a picnic, and find a shaded spot for a leisurely lunch. Head to Palm Beach – this long stretch is frequently the film set for Home and Away filming. Or if you want the ease of shopping under one roof, the architecturally splendid Queen Victoria Building houses over 180 shops and boutiques. Westfield shopping centre is located at the base of Centrepoint Tower. The Rocks quarter has a fantastic selection of handicraft shops, patisseries and the oldest pub in the country. For high-end designer boutiques, shops and eateries visit Double Bay.
Kings Cross is recognised as one of the liveliest areas of Sydney packed with bars, clubs and nightclubs. In recent years Oxford Street has also earned a reputation as Sydney’s nightclub strip.
