Dinner by the pool with a sleeping baby in her pram under the stars is a rare but beautiful thing for parents. Add to that all the perks of a chic Greek-island retreat, and just knowing that if our child threw a tantrum in any of the public spaces it wouldn’t be frowned upon – this is what really put us instantly at ease. The staff at Anemi Hotel have captured the art of being very hospitable but also allowing us guests just to get on with their holiday, knowing just when to disappear… Many of those that work here in fact have their own children living on site, so families are nothing but welcomed into a wonderful friendly atmosphere. Having said that, this stylish minimalist hotel has a seductive streak that also makes it perfect for couples. We were happy to get away from the bustling atmosphere of peak-season Santorini but here on its Cyclades sister island Folegandros we were still able to embrace local culture and beach-hop. What was special about this romantic hotelfor us was that there’s a dedicated freshwater children’s pool next to the adults’ pool, a playground area behind the hotel, tennis court and also a games room for when that Greek sun wasn’t working its usual magic.
