Live the journey with Operational Research

Flying is a complex business, which makes the airline industry one of the most varied and intensely challenging environments to manage. Are you ready to help make the right decisions on network, fleet, sales, marketing, operational logistics and customer loyalty to name but a few? These are key to our success.

Joining our Operational Research team you’ll use analytical skills to support decision-making, initiate change and make key issues less complex. These are critical to taking our business forward.

Working closely with people at all levels, you’ll be involved with high profile projects right across the organisation. You’ll have the chance to show your initiative, enthusiasm and drive, and influence multi-million pound decisions such as what destinations we should fly to, what price our tickets should be and whether we should buy the latest aircraft. Structuring a variety of complex issues, you’ll use sophisticated analytical techniques to find the best solutions and work with the business to implement them effectively.

Along with a healthy salary plus increases based on performance, our comprehensive learning and development programme will ensure you expand your skills and improve your capabilities. From there, you’ll enjoy a range of long-term career opportunities in Operational Research and across our wider business.

Together with good commercial awareness, you’ll have the ability to apply your business modelling, problem structuring and analytical skills to complex problems. Naturally, you’ll be a confident communicator and influencer who can present technical information to non-technical audiences.

You should hold at least a 2:1 degree or equivalent and have a BSc, MSc or PhD with significant Operational Research or Applied Statistics content. In addition, you must have a highly quantitative first degree or an A-level in Maths/Statistics (Grade A-B) or equivalent, as well as two A levels (Grades A-C) or equivalent. You must have the right to live and work in the UK.

We hope to open for applications in the Autumn, and will provide an update on these pages with notice of our launch date as soon as we can.
