Procurement

British Airways spends approximately £4bn per annum on the purchase of goods and services from external companies. Procurement is in a unique position to significantly influence BA's profitability through the effective management of this external cost base.

Procurement also has a key role to play in securing competitive advantage through leveraging the creativity and innovation of BA's suppliers to support the introduction of new products and technological advances. Increasingly, through outsourcing, BA is dependent on its suppliers to ensure business continuity and operational performance is maintained.

Each year we purchase everything from fuel, hotels and advertising to office furnishings and in-flight entertainment. Whether it's fitting out a new Executive Club lounge, equipping our aircraft with the latest avionics or negotiating landing fees around the world, the team are dedicated to delivering world class procurement performance.

Property Services

The principal role of the Property Services is to manage the delivery of facilities services as part of the BA Shared Services Group, in providing a structure for an effective, compliant service in relation to the operation of the Company’s buildings.

Property Services is tasked with delivering client projects including overseas properties ensuring compliance to all corporate governance, health & safety, planning legislation and statutory legislation.

The team develops and implements property strategies to support the delivery of BA’s corporate plan and lead the estate management of 8 million square feet of property.

The Finance Services functions ensure 400,000 invoices are paid each year and the invoiced spend is in the region of £6 billion worldwide. It critical to British Airways and all suppliers that these invoices are fully receipted in accordance with all the related legislation and internal processes.
