I'm a morning person, so I'm usually out of bed before 7 for a shower and breakfast. I drive to work from High Wycombe which takes about 40 minutes.

I like to get to the office early, clear my head and get myself settled before the day begins properly. I do have a smartphone, but I prefer to sit at my desk and sort out my emails.

I always make sure I have a very clear idea of what I'm doing in the day ahead. Prioritising my workload helps me make the most of my time. I find it really helpful to work through a list during the day.

I've a busy morning, juggling meetings and on-going projects. My manager wants a quick one-to-one to catch up on a short-haul trend analysis project that we're both involved in. She couldn't make the last meeting, so she's keen to hear my thoughts on the market dynamics. Plus I'm putting the finishing touches to a presentation that's going to feed into the fortnightly Business Tactical meeting.

Lunch with the team in the company canteen. Wednesday is curry day – always a highlight. Then on the way back to the office, we all grab an espresso to kick start the afternoon.

Get stopped in the corridor by a colleague from Business Tactical with a follow up question about our last meeting. Spend some time talking him through the scenarios and agree to do some further analysis on aircraft types.

Gain agreement from Head of Corporate Sales and marketing colleagues to make data central to new campaign. Commit to devise a dynamic data model that will track ongoing effectiveness and enable us to adapt the campaign to reflect changing customer preferences. Should be a really interesting project.

Spend the last hour of the day finishing a report on the trends in the short-haul market to Eastern Europe. This pulls together all the findings that came out of the meeting in the morning, plus much of my thinking on the subject. Great to get it down on paper.
