The Network Development team at British Airways is responsible for choosing the destinations BA fly to, at what time, how often and using which aircraft. The shape of our flight schedule influences our profit to the tune of tens of millions of pounds each year. The decision to commence flying one new route alone requires significant capital investment and can impact our bottom line by £5-10 million.
Right now, we need a Network Development Executive to work with Network Development and Scheduling colleagues to identify commercial aspirations and transform them into operationally deliverable schedules. As well as designing, developing and communicating our London schedules from creation through to handover to Tactical Planning, you’ll review performance on route and network structure, making changes as appropriate. Anticipating and reacting to changes in market demand, competition, customers and the operational environment will be important too, as will providing a strategic outlook for routes within your portfolio and optimising asset and resource utilisation to drive reductions in schedule led controllable cost. And, when it comes to building relationships and collaborating with various teams around the airline, again, we’ll rely on you!
With a fleet of 230 aircraft operating nearly 5000 flights every week, we know the impact that an expertly planned schedule can have on the bid to meet the needs of our customers and realise our commercial ambitions. Leading a team of six, it will be your considerable challenge to design and develop our Heathrow schedules from two years out right up to 10 days before departure.
This is a unique opportunity to lead a brand new analysis team and help to shape the performance of global direct selling and servicing channels across British Airways. You’ll manage a team of analysts, responsible for delivering a deeper insight into operational and commercial performance, and the customer experience, of our global direct channels. Your remit will span our full range of direct selling and servicing channels worldwide - from contact centres to ba.com.
